Rain, “Noona Lee Hyori is the best female solo singer in Korea”

Singer Rain picks Lee Hyori as the best female solo singer.

Rain was on MBC Golden Fishery aired on 9th June when he was asked what he think of Lee Hyori as a member of the opposite gender and his answer was, “She is like a noona.”

Rain, “I think of her as the best female singer of our country.” MC Shin JungHwa then teased him with the question, “Do you think that she and Um JungHwa are of the same level?” which had everyone in the studio bursting in laughter.

Rain is indeed the biggest badass star!

Last May we have announced about Rain’s nomination in MTV movie awards.

Rain has done Korea proud by becoming the first native Korean to win an award from the MTV Movie Awards.

Rain had been nominated for the Biggest Badass Staraward for his role as Raizo, the most lethal Special Forces Ninja assassin in Ninja Assassin and was up against Hollywood stars like Angelina Jolie, Chris Pine, Channing Tatum and Sam Worthington.

But he came away as the winner and spoke in fluent English with his short acceptance speech. He becomes the fourth Asian star after Lucy Liu,Jackie Chanand Ken Jeong to win an award from MTV. We congratulate him!

Is Rain The Biggest Badass Star?

MTV believes you might think so.

“Ninja Assassin” Rain is a nominee for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards in the category of “Biggest Badass Star” along with Hollywood heavyweights, such as Sam Worthington (Avatar, Clash of the Titans), Chris Pine(Star Trek), Channing Tatum (G.I. Joe), and Angelina Jolie (Wanted).

Quite a worthy nod considering that the MTV Movie Awards represent the American youth mainstream.

It is hard for me to gauge how people would vote for this particular category, since the profile blurbs mention a few movies that were not technically released in 2009-2010. So am I supposed to vote based on the level of badassery just this past year or overall? Looking through the categories, Rain would win hands down if he was a “Global Superstar” nominee.
